to the moon, and beyond
The other night I couldn’t sleep for some unknown (at the time) reason, so I got up and went outside to see what all the light was about. It had been a full moon a few hours ago when I first laid down trying to sleep.
I had heard something about a lunar eclipse at around 4a so I thought “what the heck” maybe I should take a look, since I can’t sleep anyway. I would not have gotten up this early on purpose, but since I was already there… maybe I should record this for the kids to see.
Wow … I had no idea.
A couple hours later after some quick editing I posted the summary on YouTube - here it is…
I had no idea something like this would be so popular. In the next day there were over 5000 views, and a week later it’s over 60,000. It was in the top 5 for most viewed videos in news and politics at one point.
One guy wrote “If more people watched things like this, there’d probably be more peace in the world” and he’s right. This is another example of how we (people wanting to do good) can take something that is thought of by many as an un-holy place, and make it something for good.
Next time you start to say “____ is bad” or “keep the kids away from ____” what if you came up with a way to change it. I’m not talking about boycotts here, I’m talking about making it a place that makes people think “shalom” - or as my wise poster put it “peace.”
