more or less?
The busier you are, the bigger impact you’ll have – right? Not always. In fact, I would argue not usually.
Many times our churches are doing so much, that not only are all our ministries and their volunteers overworked, but our people are so busy attending our “events” that they don’t have time to go into the world and love people.
Sometimes we need to refocus our time and resources.
Focus improves return on investment. Doing a few things very well returns more results than will doing many things poorly. So where do you start cutting?
Track your return – if you don’t know what ministries are making an impact on your mission, then your first step is to start keeping track. What are you doing that is not producing fruit – helping you reach your mission. If we stop doing something, who will notice? 100 years from now, who will care?
Rank everything you do for a while against these scales – I bet you’ll be doing much less.
